If you haven’t come across the phrase “New year, New Me” already this January then im guessing you have been living under a rock. Just about everyone seems to be decluttering, reorganising, refocusing and of course starting to eat healthy after overindulging during the festive period.
At the weekend I was very kindly invited by CMPR to attend a meet up of local bloggers which was hosted by the amazing Eddie Rockets on the Lisburn Road in Belfast. Having never been to Eddie Rockets before I was very excited as it just looks like my kinda place…especially after investigating the milkshakes online…yum!
At the beginning of February we spent a few days in Berlin child free thanks to my wonderful in-laws. It was a special christmas treat for us to get away and it was definitely much-needed. I would love to say it was very relaxing but it was go go go from the start but we didn’t mind as it was great to see the city in all its glory.
Today Chris and I did the Belfast food tour. We received a gift voucher for the tour as part of our Christmas present from my parents but wanted to wait until we knew the weather would be brighter and also the kids wouldn’t be a nightmare for the babysitters ie the wonderful grandparents 🙂 so the tour did not disappoint and thankfully neither did the children..but grandparents would say that anyway!
Thank you all so much for the feedback on my cupcakes I didn’t think the post would have been such a big hit!! I LOVE when others are inspired to give it a go so here is the recipe I use…please tag me in any pictures as I would love to see them! More importantly if you live local to me im more than happy to be the taste tester 🙂
I went through a phase a few years ago when I worked in retail management of using my days off midweek to bake. I loved it religiously. My forte lay in baking cupcakes and I would bake them by the dozen. I then changed jobs and well, really never baked again! I didn’t have time at the weekends and then I got pregnant and couldn’t face it. Along came Olivia and all time to do anything went out the window but that was fine, that was life. Much to the disappointment of my taste tester husband and my father in law who is quite partial to a bun or two or three 🙂
The first time I ever laid my eyes on this wonderful burger joint was in New York when I met up with my friend Rachel in the city. She lives in Australia and just happened to be visiting at the same time as me and we decided to grab a bite to eat. Rachel suggested going to have the “best burger in the city” and apparently that was at Five Guys.
