I thought I would do a little post in the run up to Mothers day to recommend some business in my local area based in Northern Ireland.  I know this will wont apply to anyone not local but a lot of lovely people who follow my blog are not too far away so this should hopefully give you some ideas and how lovely is it also to support a local business right?

Just Beauty

98 Newry street, Banbridge

I could be accused of being biased as my friend Kathy owns this beautiful salon but I can hand on my heart say I would not recommend her if she wasn’t brilliant at her job! The business only opened in July 2016 and already has had so much success and support locally that you couldn’t pass it by without a nosey in 🙂

Just beauty is my go to for any waxing that I need, a good manicure to make you feel a million dollars and also massages are out of this world. Kathy also done my wedding make up and my bridesmaids and even to this day I always tell people even though yes it was my wedding day it was still the day I looked my best ever and it was all because of Kathy’s experience and talent. If you aren’t sure what your mum might like from the salons beauty menu then there is always the gift voucher choice so they can pick a treatment to cater for them and Kathy is always on hand to offer any advice or recommendations.

you can book online at www.justbeautybanbridge.co.uk or visit the salons Facebook page for more info.

Joanne Wills Flowers

Based out of Kinallen, Dromore

I first discovered Joanne Wills Flowers a few months ago when I was fortunate enough to win a flower arrangement made by Joanne in a raffle supporting another wonderful business I will mention next Bliss Beauty. I adore flowers there is nothing better to lift your mood than a great big bunch of fresh flowers that smell divine.

You can pre order your flowers for mother’s day by March 22nd. Hand tied flowers range from £20-£40+ and Floral boxes  (hand tied in water) range from £25-£45+ both include a message card and delivery. There is also a choice of flowers arranged in jugs or vases. All the work is done for you what a bonus 🙂

you can contact Joanne via her website cottage crafts & flowers or via her instagram page which is worth a look alone at the stunning arrangements.

Bliss Skin & Beauty

12 Hampton Court, Dromore

This place is my safe haven, the place I relax in the most and my skin saviour. Proprietor Michelle, who is the first qualified Dermalogica Skin Expert in NI, literally saved my skin from years of teenage and adult acne. I tried everything but one visit to her and everything turned around and ive never looked back since.
The salon is based in an extension beside Michelle’s house so it is literally a home away from home and you could not be made to feel more welcome. Michelle does offer a range of treatments but by far exceeds at skin care and this is her passion. I cannot recommend the Dermalogica perspective facial enough. Your skin feels renewed afterwards and you feel relaxed beyond belief. This would make a fantastic Mothers Day gift or even a treat for yourself sometime 🙂 Michelle will perform skin mapping on your face to determine which course of treatment is right for you and your skin making every facial unique to you.
You can also purchase gift vouchers of your choice if you can’t decide from all the lovely treatments offered.
Please contact Michelle @ Bliss via the Facebook page or via the instagram account.
In even better news both Joanne and Michelle have teamed up and are offering a prescriptive facial and a bunch of flowers for £55 as a one off Mothers Day treat.  You can contact Michelle @ Bliss to avail of this wonderful offer.
Woven
5a Church Square, Banbridge
This is a beautiful home & lifestyle store which only opened in November 2016 and stocks absolutely amazing products the majority of which are local. Lots of rugs, cushions, quirky ornaments, picture frames etc can be found in this treasure chest but my favourite items are by far the prints from local artists.
The print below is by Alison Soye a local illustrator. You can visit her website to view more of her quirky pictures but this one is really stands out so would make a great present.
The second artist I really love is Belfast artist Aly Harte and her work has featured in TV programmes such as The Fall and Million Dollar Listing NY believe it or not…how cool is that?! There are numerous art pieces that are fantastic on her website but the one I love best is the little dancing girl shown below in pink. This would make such a sweet Mothers day gift from a daughter to a mum.

The third artist is based in Banbridge called White Chalk Studio. I just love this print of Belfast; it is so different and would look amazing framed. You can visit the website to view more of this artists work or link through the Woven Instagram to see more of the drawing which I believe stand out from the rest. An excellent gift idea.

You can visit the store which is open Tuesday – Saturday 10am-5pm (closed Sunday & Monday)  or visit their Facebook page or instagram account to see all the latest finds. I could have written a whole blog on this shop alone as there are so many fabulous finds in it. Even if you are not local to Banbridge it’s worth the drive certainly.

Hopefully some of these ideas have inspired you to get motivated for Mothers day shopping ahead of 26th March. It is also important to shop local as these wonderful women above work hard every day to ensure that we are offered the personal touch and something different than can be seem on the high street.
