March is always a pretty mad month for us in this household. We have 3 family birthdays, easter on the horizon and Mothers Day thrown in there for good measure. While the birthdays were not big important numbers Olivias birthday took president as this year she really knew what was going on, who she wanted at her party, what cake she wanted and where she wanted to have it. Ever since she began nursery school all events that place have so much more meaning and it’s really lovely to see her enjoying them all so much more.

Rather than write paragraph upon paragraph ive just put together a round-up for pictures from this month of all the things we have been up to..

The 1st of March brought the Beast from the East and we were snowed in for a few days so work was cancelled, childminder was cancelled and nursery was cancelled. Finally Olivia got to use the sledge that my uncle gave her last year….Chris had just been waiting on this moment all winter long and this may be the only time ive seen my dad willing to brace the cold..anything for his granddaughter 🙂

Olivia seemed to be celebrating her birthday over the course of the week receiving numerous presents, two cakes and a multitude of helium balloons much to Zannas delight.

We were under strict instructions that she wanted a unicorn cake and after spotting one on a local bakers Facebook page I contacted them and boy did they deliver. If you are local to Banbridge and ever in need of a cake make sure to contact Oh Crumbs, Cakes and Buns it was honestly the best tasting cake ever, aside from my sister in laws cake but we didn’t think it would survive the flight from London unfortunately!

During the festivities of birthday week Ruby Rabbit also came to stay. If you have had a child at nursery or school you may well have experienced the joys of having the mascot come and visit and thankfully the week was free where we knew we would be up to some adventures so I quickly got Olivias name down otherwise that poor rabbit would be visiting Tescos and helping with the housework! So off Ruby went to the hairdressers, GB and enjoyed a good old bedtime story 🙂

Mothers Day was spent with family as we all went out for a beautiful lunch at the golf club my dad belongs to. Its great when we can all get together and any excuse really is justified and when food is involved it’s even better.

The month ended with a wonderful trip to the farm for Olivia. We are very luck to have such a  lovely friend who Olivia will only refer to now as “Farmer Richard” who has a farm and offered to show Olivia all the new chicks that were being delivered to him…all 40,000 of them! Well needless to say she was in her element getting up close and personal with all the farm animals.

Now the chicks are here it is officially Spring and definitely time to open those chocolate eggs…as if we need any excuse 🙂

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter xx
