When its a wet dreary day and you have kids your first thought of how to get the day in almost always turns to soft play and today was no different for us. Thankfully we where very kindly invited to go along to the recently opened Global Adventure Play in Ballynahinch. It did not disappoint.
The soft play complex is based around children’s needs and sparking their imagination. With a baby, toddler and older children section there is something for everyone. My first impressions on entering the premises was that everything was so clean, I mean exceptional clean! The staff greeted us with a smile and told us a bit about the different areas so we knew what suited Olivia and Zanna best for their age group and we managed to time it right as there was only a few more people there before the parties got into full swing.
The older child section was divided up into different sections. There was a king of the castle theme, wild west and space theme and an Egyptian world. This really gripped Olivia’s attention with plenty of sensory objects, swings, Nerf type guns which shot sponge balls and facts and figures along the way. I found this bit to be really age appropriate for her as she could use and operate all the equipment in the space as well as navigate her way around it easily.
The Toddler section for Zanna was definitely the best Toddler section I have seen at any Soft Play we have been too. It was bright and colourful with plenty of stimulation and lots of opportunity to be creative through a sensory wall of interactive music and a multitude of soft play colourful bricks. The added bonus was that the toddler zone was big.
In the majority of soft play places we have gone to (too many to name!) we normally have to stay with the kids in case they need a hand getting up or down on the equipment but that wasn’t the case here. Everything was manageable and as a parent this is quite the peace of mind we appreciate. It also give us the opportunity to supervise the kids and enjoy a coffee and a tray bake so win win!
As mentioned we where kindly gifted the visit but we fully intend to go back as we where extremely impressed with it and both kids where disappointed when our play time was up, this was quickly fixed with the promise of a return visit soon!
A big thank you to the staff at Global Adventure Play for making a gloomy Sunday morning much more bearable and filled with imagination and excitement.
