If you haven’t heard of MumsNI then you are missing out. A website full of great ideas for all the family including days out, craft activities, reading fun, recipes, help and advice and an area where they feature different blogs written by real people. One of those just happens to be me!
Never did I think I would be uttering the words “Olivia starts primary school this week” and yet here we are. Back in June I thought September was miles away and yet the eight weeks of summer have gone in fast forward for us.
If you are on instagram you will have been inundated by posts from local Bloggers that attended an amazing event at Kildare Village recently. I was one of the lucky ones to be invited along with nearly 80 other bloggers to a fantastic event hosted by Kildare Village and arranged by the lovely Cathy Martin owner of CMPR.
Following on from lovely meetings Ive had with several people through the squares of Instagram I decided how I would love for others who maybe where a bit nervous to come along to ‘blogger’ events or attend bigger meet ups to come together in a smaller setting; Hence the Insta meet in Banbridge – my local home town – came together.
At the weekend I was very kindly invited by CMPR to attend a meet up of local bloggers which was hosted by the amazing Eddie Rockets on the Lisburn Road in Belfast. Having never been to Eddie Rockets before I was very excited as it just looks like my kinda place…especially after investigating the milkshakes online…yum!
One massive positive that has come from social media in the last few months for me has been meeting some of the lovely people behind the squares of instagram or linked to blogs I read. It has been highlighted by a number of people on social media sites such as insta, Facebook and through different blogs I have read just about how positive this little community here in Northern Ireland can be. Having attended a few events since starting my blog is has been so nice to meet up with similar minded people who really go out of their way to include you in things
There is one place that I will always love that is so special to Christopher and I as a couple and that is the wonderful Galgorm Resort & Spa and we are biased because it’s the place we got married in all those years ago. We where fortune enough to spend all day Saturday there as part of their Afternoon Tea & Thermal Experience and it was bliss, granted we are experiencing a heat wave so it was heated bliss 🙂
I explained maybe a month ago over on my instagram stories about how Olivia has attended four speech and language classes via her nursery. It was not related to her speech or indeed her language but due to the fact she just doesn’t pay enough attention to what you are saying to her in order to get the right response. Her little mouth moves a mile a minute but she isn’t always answering your question and rather just talking about what she wants to talk about.(more…)
As we eagerly await news of Olivias primary school application this week I have had some time to reflect back on her time thus far at nursery school and the impact this has had on her and us infact. Nursery school truly is remarkable from the teachers to the resources, the learning opportunities both inside and outside the classrooms and the friendships made just to name a few.
